Neemrana Fort was built in 1464 CE by Rajah Nimola Chauhan, the 16th descendant of Prithviraj Chauhan III. The Chauhans ruled from this fort until the Mughal period, after which it gradually fell into disrepair. In 1986, the fort was acquired by Aman Nath and Francis Wacziarg, who spent decades restoring it into a heritage hotel that has since become a landmark of India's heritage hospitality movement.
